• Generocity is a social interest group that promotes increased official development assistance (ODA) from Hong Kong. With huge fiscal reserves, we believe the HKSAR government can and should pursue the goal of improving the welfare of developing countries by providing more ODA. Mechanisms for doing so might include a rise in the current emergency disaster relief funding or contributing to effective long-term health and anti-poverty programs.

Why? Think about Hong Kong and our world....

  • WHAT WE DO

We believe that educating and connecting like-minded people can help raise public awareness of global development issues. In recent years, Generocity HK has organised sharing sessions featuring international development practitioners from Hong Kong contributing overseas, while also collaborating with The Education University of Hong Kong to promote Hong Kong's potential leadership in global disaster response.

To promote sustainable and systematic poverty alleviation, Generocity HK advocates the implementation of Official Development Assistance (ODA) by the Hong Kong Government. To gauge attitudes toward ODA, we collaborated with The University of Hong Kong to survey the public. We submitted recommendations in response to the HKSAR consultation on the budget.

Stay tuned for more upcoming projects as we continue advancing our advocacy efforts.
